Kungfu Tea in Taiji Tea House, it's like our teh tarik

Hello everyone! Long time no see. I've been on hiatus on this blog for more than a month. That's cos business on my beauty blog is very good. I even made a couple of bucks from banner ads, advertorials and affiliate program. Business is so good that I have to post two posts per day. I begin to feel like there's no room for me to publish stuff I want to publish willingly. Ads lining up one after another. I'm not too sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing.

So, anyone still reading this blog? If yes,  I want to share with you all a gem that I found in Hangzhou. It is an old school tea house.

The tea house will bring you back to your great grandma's era (if you're about my age) back in China. I'm sure you guys watch Wong Fei Hong movie before. Yeah, it feels kinda like those days...

The waiter dress up as what I call keong-sii (Chinese vampire). The will sit with you on the same table to serve you all the time.

The tea are place in jars that resemble human ash urn...

And the menu is carved in bamboo scroll. I tried to take photo of the scroll but failed. As condiments, they have a table full of fruits, sweets and nuts for you... They're all free of charge. Aitelyu... we were so jakun, we didn't eat condiments for the first fifteen minutes. We thought they charge for the food, somemore the tea itself is already expensive. Plus, the table kinda reminds me of prayer alter. That's how my house prayer alter looks like though...

From time to time, the kitchen will prepare some hot food to serve on your table (free of charge too!). Here's the rice cake, which I don't really like..

And some lotus seed paste pudding... This one I like...

This is fresh red dates (hong zhou) and it's my first time seeing it. The ones I use to cook for soup are dried and red. This is the first time I'm seeing the fresh one. It taste like apples... Mini apples...

Some Chinese poem, best way to enjoy a cup of Chinese tea...

We speak Chinese so the waiter was quite chatty. When I point out at this freaking long tea pot, and asked him what it is.........

.... he went back to the kitchen and came with another tea pot as long as that one and showed us some skills...

Here, I present to you..................... mamak Cina buat teh tarik...........

If you're in Hangzhou and want some oriental nostalgic experience, go to Taiji Tea House. You'll love it! It is located in some ancient street called Hefang Street which is one of the main tourist attraction.
