I've missed The Wicked when they were in Sydney. And then I missed them when they were in Melbourne. I got so frustrated everytime I passed by Collins Street and seeing the huge banner hanging at Regent Theater. Later when I went to Auckland, I couldn't book the ticket at all because I didn't have any internet connection.
And finally they arrived Singapore. By hook or by cook, I must watch it.
Sorry for the lack of quality photo. I had to rely on my phone camera and we all know how sucky Blackberry camera can be. The stage was oh-so-magnificent!!! I think of all the play I've watched, The Wicked has the best stage prop.
And I had the best seat in the whole auditorium. I was in the middle of the middle. No head blocking my view. That's just great! I hate it when there's someone in front of me to block my view and I have to keep moving my shoulder when the cast move from one end to another end of the stage.
I didn't any other photo of the show because I acknowledge the hard work of the actors and the whole production team, so I totally respect their no-camera policy. (That's how I put it nicely. But what I meant is, I fucking paid $160+ for the ticket, so don't expect me to give you free review. Don't be cheapskate and buy your own tickets if you want to know the story.)
However if you think you're cheapskate, you can watch the preview on Youtube:
My favorite song of the entire show is Defying Gravity, where Elphaba
I personally think that Elphaba's voice is much better than Glinda (or Galinda) although many thinks that they're equally good.
The story is written by Schwartz (however you pronounce it), set before the story of Wizard of Oz. I bet most of us read the story when we were little, right?
Like I've said, I won't tell you the entire story, so I'm just going to show you all my camwhoring photos like a normal self-absorbed female blogger.
Champagne for intermission...
Popping the bubbles. Wheeeeeeeee.....
Actually Jocelyn, my old friend from college, was the one who told me about The Wicked coming to Singapore. If not I wouldn't have known. This is her...
She's always camera shy.
When we hanging out at the foyer after the play, one of the cast
I took a photo with him because everyone else was taking photo with him. It's not like I'm a huge fan or he is super good looking. I think he just look like any ordinary surfer dude. After going through the booklet, I got to know that I've saw a lot of his play before... Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, etc. So I guess that make me a fan too?
Since it's my first time at Marina Bay, I wanted to cam whore but my friends aren't a camwhore like me. This is the time I wish Yvonne was there.
Shikin!!! She was the only one who share the same enthusiasm with me when we were in Tasmania. We were so free those days that we practically doing nonsense like hanging out in botanical garden to see the tulips bloom, travel up north to Cataract Gorge to see rocks, walk to beer factory, hanging out at Dome to make clay stuff. And then squeeze our brain juice to think of what to do in the weekend. Right now I don't even have the time to change my light bulb. #truestory
You know, I bought my outfit there from head to toe. Jacket from Forever 21, black shirt and plaid skirt from Zara. They're so cheap! And I bought them because I don't think Malaysia outlet has any of those. Strangely, the collections in Singapore and Malaysia is totally different.
Tzethon, my college mate in Taylor's, when there weren't Asia Cafe and Starbucks in SS15.
Jocelyn!!! Finally a photo with her :)
OK... Back to The Wicked.... It's worth every penny. It is a splendid show. So, go watch while they're still in Singapore! Link to the tickets site here.
Lastly, here's my version of Elphaba the Witch of West.
What?! What are you looking at? Oh, do I have something in my teeth? Okay, let's get this over with. No, I'm not seasick, yes, I've always been green, no, I didn't chew grass as a child.

Nice post. I'm also going to see Wicked, missed it in Melbourne. :) Mind sharing your seat number?
I can't remember my seat number though. But when you buy online you can choose your seats. Try to get the middle one, it'll be fine.
