The bain marie is decorated with various pretty and colourful desserts and cupcakes that look so irresistible.
It was about 5pm, so we thought it's the right time to order the high tea set.
The tray starts with bacon, ham and cheese with foccacia (whatever that is) and egg mayo sandwich with a touch of truffle.
The middle tray has bacon quiche lorraine (super fantastic!) and seasonal lobster on toast.
And lastly on the highest tray, it's the chef's choice of assorted French pastries.
It really depends on your luck what is the pastries of the day and what they pick for you. The tea set also comes with 2 choices of tea. It's great because Shikin only drinks earl grey. I always tease her that she drinks old people's tea. Since we can have our own tea, I don't have to share her old people's tea.
After we had our tea, we still felt hungry a bit, so we order the fish and chips.
We shared the fish & chips. Since Shikin is a Muslim, she can't take pork and alcohol and most of their mains cooked with wine or has bacon in it. We left with fish and vegetarian. And of course, I anti vegetable. Our only option is fish & chips. It doesn't matter actually. It kinda brings back memory of us in Tasmania eating fish & chips by the sea. The fish & chips is quite good actually. The batter is not too thick at the same time it's super crispy. And the fish is so soft that it melts in the mouth.
The ambiance in the restaurant is so cosy and warm (as in the feeling warm, and not the temperature).
I know you might be thinking, if the food and place is so good, why there isn't any guest eating in the restaurant. That's because the place was booked for a company event when we went in. And there suppose to be another group dining at the place after I took this photo.
Say hi to Shikin!
Drinking my not-old-people's tea.
I will definitely go back to the place. Not because I love the name so much... Imagine if I tell my friend, "Let's have dinner at High Society." Sound damn atas right? The food is really good and there's so much I can eat at that time. The price is affordable although the name make it sound like it's really expensive. If you go during lunch time, their set lunch is only SGD29 (somewhere around that price).
If you happen to be in Marina Sands, go check it out ok? I'm sure you'll be attracted by place and the menu.
