How to earn money from blogging controversial topics

Like I’ve promised earlier, I’ll share some tips with you guys how to earn money from blogging controversial stuff. First of all, you must have a blog. Then, install some money-making adverts such as Adsense. I used to subscribe to Adbrite, but it was too slow. Google product is still better. The eCPM rate on Adsense is much higher. What is eCPM? Honestly, I don’t know. But eCPM works this way…the more visits on your blog, the more money you earn.

Now you have a blog, you have advert tools installed on your blog, next you have to lure as many readers as you can. The easiest way is to blog about controversial topics. What considered as controversial topics? Most of the time, subjects such as politics, religion, race, sex and humanity that invite debates are highly controversial. However, there are many downsides to this. Blogging about politics is extremely dangerous. You might end up in jail, especially you touch on Malaysia politics issues (let’s abolish ISA!). But if you take a step back and observe the bigger frame, politics are not just about government policies and dramas. Politics is everywhere! So, take this chance to blog about politics that’s happening in your life. Before you know it, you’re earning money while you’re sleeping.

From my latest experience, “i'll curse whoever came into my room!!!!!” and “This is the season of hate” attracted 1776 visitors to my blog. That number excludes those who view my homepage. That means 1776 visitors for those two posts only! If you’re a celebrity blogger, that’s not a great number. But for a humble blog like mine, it did a great job. Still…my best entries that gained most visitor per post are “OMG! Free MILF porn” and “Of many stupid things I’ve done…” thanks to the-newspaper-that-shall-not-be-named linked my blog on its homepage.

OK, we shall stop doing Math on the number of visitors. Let’s get to “how it works?”. Believe it or not, people are generally narcissistic, busybody and loves gossip. They love their name to appear on your blog. They love you blogging about them. And they love gossiping. When they notice their name or their friend’s name on your blog, the news will be spreading around faster than SARS. That’s how you get more and even more publicity! Very simple, isn’t it? So start blogging about your friend(s)…or foe(s). Who cares…? As long as someone you know. Make sure it’s controversial. No one wants to read your love letter to your best buddy.

Sometimes, you don’t have politics happening around you all the time. When you see an opportunity, that’s when the sun shines. You wouldn’t know of it’s the only chance you’ll get. You’ll either be famous or infamous. As for me, I’m always the infamous one. Previously, I’ve mentioned that there’s a hate group for me on facebook. I’m not joking. Here’s the screenshot. I hope there are more fans in it…

When a friend notify me of that group, I almost laughed my stomach out. The creator (i.e. el perro) named me a psycho without knowing the true psycho is his own friend, who seeks psychologist help. Now that’s a real psycho! She claims that she experienced anxiety and insomnia while in relationship with someone. Being together with someone you love is a beautiful thing. How can you have anxiety and insomnia? Psycho is hard to comprehend, eh? And you know…she even pulls her own hair too. *shudder* If I ever see her on the street I’ll better run for my life or she’ll pull my hair too.

So, that’s how controversial topics can bring you money. The explanation is very simple, you’ll get publicity among people you know. But before that, please read the legal advice on blogging and tips on how to blog safely. You must love me, I did those research for you so you won’t get into trouble.

*Disclaimer: I hold no responsibility if you decide to follow my tips and got your ass fucked up. I force no one, I’m just sharing my experience here because I want everyone to make the most out of your blogs.

I agree - I get more hits when my topics allow for mujltiplr opinions. Of course my stories are made up so it makes it even more fun when people think they are true!

Wow. That's certainly food for thought. Although I would never purposely choose a controversial topic to blog about. It's just not me :)
